Meet the Nurses of School District 105!
SD 105 employs a certified school nurse, Nancy Connolly, RN, MS, IL-CSN.   The certified school nurse, under the school code of Illinois, works closely with all staff, utilizing the school health program to contribute significantly to the attainment of optimum health and safety in a school setting.  SD 105 also employs Registered Nurses (Kim Bonk, Ann Gornik, Kathy Gross and Jean Sykes). The nurses rotate throughout the schools during the course of a week and are generally at the schools daily from 8:30am-3:00pm.

If you have any health related questions or concerns you may contact Nancy Connolly (District Nurse and Certified School Nurse) at 708-675-9227, or you may also contact your child's school and ask to speak with a nurse.

Have a healthy year!

School District 105 Health and Safety policy

SD 105 Health and Safety

For your child’s welfare and/or the welfare of other students and staff members, SD 105 requires the following:

If a child has a fever greater than 100 degrees, they should remain at home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.  In addition, if a child is vomiting or experiences diarrhea, they should remain at home until free of these symptoms for 24 hours.

First aid is given for all accidents occurring in school or on the school grounds.  In case of a serious accident or sudden illness, parents are notified and arrangements are made for them to take their child home or to see the doctor.

Parents should be sure their school has the name and phone number of a  friend or relative who may be called when parents cannot be reached.    Emergency forms are provided at each school for this purpose.

When children are in attendance, any open cuts, wounds or sores must be covered.  Also, school accident insurance policies are available in the fall at a nominal cost.

Parents are encouraged to teach children good hygiene etiquette such as covering their mouth with the crook of their arm when sneezing or coughing.  In addition, they should wash their hands before eating and after using the restroom.

Please take a moment to visit the column located to the right (Health Service Links).  If you have any health related questions or concerns please contact the nurse at your child’s school.
